6sense vs Apollo for Small Outbound Teams

Apollo is a contact and company database with outreach built in, and you can sign up free. 6sense is an account-based platform built around intent data, predictive modeling and advertising, and you get pricing through a sales call. For a team of two to five reps, Apollo is usually the closer fit. 6sense starts to make sense once marketing and sales share one target list.

We pulled these descriptions from apollo.io and 6sense.com in October 2026. Both vendors change packaging often. Confirm before you buy. If we got something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Who each one is built for

Apollo's site describes a big database with prospecting and outreach tools on top. It cites more than 240 million contacts and 30 million accounts. A rep can filter by title and company, build a list of 500 contacts on day one and start a sequence the same afternoon. No call with sales. No procurement.

6sense describes a platform for marketing and sales teams. Its product list covers intent data, predictive models, account prioritization, advertising and sales tools. Intent is the core of the pitch, and the data network is called Signalverse. It's built for an account-based program, the kind where marketing and sales work one list of 500 or 1,000 target accounts.

Different jobs. One helps a rep find people and write to them. The other helps a team pick which accounts deserve attention, then reach them through email, LinkedIn ads and sales. Got the first problem? Don't buy the second.

What a small outbound team should weigh

Team size changes the math. Picture three reps and a founder, no ad budget and no marketer running campaigns. Much of what 6sense offers needs both to pay off.

Pricing is the other issue. 6sense prices through a demo, so you can't compare cost up front. Ask for a number on call one. Otherwise you'll burn three weeks, two demos and a procurement review on something that was never in your budget.

Apollo's weakness runs the other way. A big database gives you reach, not timing. Two fintech startups with 60 people each can be in very different places, one hiring and one frozen. Apollo does list signals, so test them on your own list first.

Our view, for what it's worth: if you need contacts, buy a database. If you need to know which of your 200 target accounts to call first, that's prioritization. Signals can answer that before you take on a full ABM platform.

How to test either one in a week

Don't trust a demo. Export 50 accounts you know well from Salesforce or HubSpot: ten that bought and forty that didn't. Run all 50 through the tool on Monday.

Then count. How many of your 10 buyers did it flag? How many of the 40 others? Open ten contacts on LinkedIn and check they're people you'd write to. By Friday you'll know. If you can't tell in 5 days whether it helps, month 6 won't be clearer.

A third option: PravRaha

We build PravRaha, so this is our pitch, kept short. We're sales-led. We watch five kinds of events at your target accounts: leadership changes, hiring, tech-stack changes, funding and expansion. We show which accounts to work this week and why, then draft outreach around the trigger. You approve every message, and it sends from your own Gmail or Outlook mailbox. Starter is $249 a month and Growth is $499. See the pricing page.

Our data is narrower than Apollo's. Need breadth across many segments? We won't replace a database that size. Running a full marketing-led ABM program with ads? 6sense is built for that and we aren't. Some teams run us next to Apollo. Details are on our Apollo and 6sense comparison pages, or read about buyer intent.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Often not yet. 6sense is built for account-based programs where marketing and sales share a target list, and pricing comes through a sales call. Without an ad budget or a marketer, Apollo and a clear ideal customer profile will likely get you further.

For outbound prospecting, partly. Apollo covers contact search and sequencing, and its site lists some signals. It doesn't offer the advertising and predictive platform that 6sense describes. So it depends on whether you need those.

They approach it differently. 6sense centers on third-party intent data and predictive models. Apollo lists intent next to job changes and website visits. We can't rank the data quality. Test both on your own 50 accounts.

Apollo lists free sign-up and paid plans on apollo.io. 6sense quotes pricing through its sales team. Check both sites for current figures, because plans change.

It depends on the job. A database like Apollo covers search and outreach. A signal-based tool like PravRaha covers prioritization for sales-led outbound. Neither includes the advertising side of an ABM platform.
